Calendar Upgrade to be Deployed on Tuesday

I have been working on improving the calendar feature of group sites for the last two weeks. We're trying to make it a little more user friendly as well as more functional. Some of the changes I have made include simplifying the creation of annual events such as birthdays and anniversaries, adding holidays to the calendar, and improving the general graphical layout (hopefully). I think the changes will make using the calendar as a way to track important family or group events a lot more useful. As always, if any of you have any suggestions or ideas just make a comment to one of my entries or send us a suggestion email. That's all for now.

New feature for the family websites

For the last week I have been working on a message board type feature that will be available for the group websites. We had been receiving some suggestions for an informal means of communication similar a forum. I am nearly complete and if all goes according to plan will be deploying the new feature on Monday. Something new to the message board is a pretty sweet open source wysiwyg called tinyMCE put out by moxiecode. It has tons of features and is very configurable. Hopefully members of ldscenter will enjoy using it. If anyone wants additional features to the message board I would love to know about it. Pest Control

So we've had Center deployed now for about a week and things seem to be comming along pretty well. Right now we are just ironing out some small usability issues and tiny bugs. Hopefully we can start refining our current feature set and adding new features after the holidays.

7:00AM finals

I just took my second 7am final this morning... Seven in the morning is just not a normal time to be up if you ask me, especially in the winter time when its all dark and cold. Anyways, the final was for Philosophy 320R -- Aristotle. The course wasn't the best philosophy class I have taken so far to be honest. The instructor was pretty nice but it was just boring. I think it was because we did a general survey of his works instead of focusing on a specific theme or topic. Oh well, the class is over.

So it turns out that I am a programmer that works for Persona LLC, the company that owns this site. CRAZY, I know. To be honest I'm not much of a "blogger" but I thought I would try it out. So, uh... bye.
